Gelati Celesti

Today I am going to be reviewing another ice cream place, this one is called Gelati Celesti. Gelati Celesti is a gelato shop in Richmond, Virginia. With 3 retail stores around Richmond and a few other locations you can find and enjoy Gelati Celesti a lot of different times. The retail locations are in Bon Air, West End and in Short Pump. You can also find it at Chitterchats and Boyers.  They also have a food truck that goes to events. I saw them at Dominion Riverrock one time.

Gelati Celesti is a great place to go when looking for a variety of flavors. They have 23 different flavors that are available daily but also have daily flavor specials that you can choose from. No matter what you are bound to find something you are interested in.

My personal favorites are: Oreo, Chocolate Decadence, Coffee and Cream, Just Ask, Espresso Oreo.
Oreo tastes exactly like Oreo cookies but in an ice cream form. Chocolate Decadence is "Chocolate Decadence is the darkest, richest chocolate ice cream on the market"- Gelati Celesti Website. Just Ask is White Chocolate ice cream with Peanut butter and Oreos.

All of the flavors are delicious! I definitely recommend trying some of this ice cream.

I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!

The Patio-Lakeside Ohio

Today I am going to be reviewing a restaurant in Lakeside, Marblehead, Ohio. I am mainly going to be reviewing one specific thing from the Patio, their doughnuts. The Patio is probably most famous for their doughnuts that families get on a daily basis while on vacation on Lake Erie.

The Patio is located in a Chautauqua Community on Lake Erie in Marblehead, Ohio which is also very close to Sandusky, Ohio. I personally have been going to this gated, safe community for 14-15 summers now and am going to continue going until I can't anymore. I have had many Patio doughnuts and can confidently say they are one of my highlights of going to Lakeside Ohio.

Some pros of these delicious breakfast treats are there price... Summer 2015 they were 0.95 each or $5 for 1/2 a dozen (6 doughnuts) or $8 for a dozen (12 doughnuts). Another pro is there flavors of doughnuts. If you are a coconut lover, you're set. If you are a chocolate or vanilla lover, you are set, even cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar. My personal favorites are the chocolate sprinkle and powdered sugar. My last but not final pro about Patio doughnuts is your timing... if you get there at the right time you may get a warm doughnut... (they are so good warm)

The Patio isn't just a place to stop and get a doughnut its also a place to get a more substantial breakfast. Also at night its a spot to get Toft's ice cream. Yummy!

There is a song by Chip Richter called "Patio Doughnuts" which is obviously all about Patio doughnuts. Chip Richter is the music entertainment at God Squad (children's church) in Lakeside Ohio during the Summer. I personally own every single one of his CDs and still go to God Squad even though I am to old... "Its a P-A-T-I-O, patio doughnuts" (lyrics from the song).

I give the Patio a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

E3 Chophouse

Today I am going to be reviewing another restaurant that I went to in Steamboat. This one is called E3 Chophouse and is owned by a few different people. The owners are Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Willie Robinson and another baseball player.

It is a very nicely decorated restaurant and is rustic/industrial but also nice. It was the first time we went and we ordered a selection of things. We ordered lamb, chicken and a salad I believe. It was okay and I think my cousins thought the lamb was ok but not worth the expensive price for it. The restaurant has expensive prices and maybe not worth them. We ordered dessert as well and got a Key Lime pie I believe and I got a cast iron skillet chocolate chip cookie. It was honestly okay. It wasn't the best cookie I have ever had and not to brag or mean but I honestly think that I make better chocolate chip cookies. I wouldn't go back due to the expensive prices and the ok food. I may go back but I wouldn't rush back.

I give it a 3.5 out of 5.

The Laundry

Today I am going to be reviewing a restaurant in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I went to Steamboat for Spring Break this year and also last years Spring Break. I went to a few different restaurants this year and decided to review it. The restaurant that I am going to be reviewing is The Laundry. The Laundry is a restaurant that used to be a old laundry mat. They reinvented the inside and made it look beautiful. It still is modern and still industrial. There is exposed brick walls and has photos from the laundry mat when it was in operation.

The first time that I went to the Laundry we ordered a range of things and shared them throughout the table of my cousins and my aunt and uncle. The first time we went we ordered Crispy shrimp and the french fries and other things but I can't remember. The second time we did the same thing and shared around the table. We ordered the french fries, duck tacos, pork belly, beet salad, biscuits, and I believe the beef brisket. It was all good but could have been better. We all agreed that the first time we went it was better and that it was just ok. Both times that we went we order the Pinot Noir grape juice and liked it a lot. It is non alcoholic grape juice that is made from grapes that pinot Noir is made out of. It is good and sweet and has a honey taste. The presentation is just like ordering a bottle of wine. The juice is in a wine bottle basically and they give you wine glasses and do the whole professional wine ordering routine. They pour a little in a persons glass and say to swirl it and sip and smell and all that. I was in charge of doing that the second time. All in all my favorite part of the dinner was the Pinot Noir grape juice.

I give it a 3 out of 5.

Update

Hello,

I know that I have been gone and haven't posted in a while and that is because I was finished with the project that I chose for a school project. I am going to post a few posts that aren't Richmond Restaurants. I went to some restaurants in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and decided that I would post blogs about them and review them. I hope you don't mind the change of restaurant location but I thought it would be useful and ok.

Thank you!

Little Mexico

Today I am going to be reviewing Little Mexico restaurant. Little Mexico is a family owned and operated restaurant in Richmond that was opened in 2007. Little Mexico is located near the VCU campus.

The feeling of Little Mexico is authentic Mexican. They play Mexican music, and the decor feels Mexican. The prices are very reasonable and affordable. The service is great and quick. Its a great place to go on a weeknight when kids have homework because its quick and delicious! The salsa and the tortilla chips are delicious!

When my family and I go to Little Mexico I get either a cheese quesadilla or a chicken burrito. When you order a chicken burrito or chicken enchilada you get a ton of chicken it them, they don't skimp on the chicken. They are nice big chunks of chicken and a lot of it.  My parents get different things every time we go sometimes, but I know that they have gotten burritos and enchiladas more than once. My parents seem to like everything they order from Little Mexico. We have gone multiple times and still love it and go back!

I give it a 5 stars out of 5 stars!

Chuy's Mexican Restaurant

Today I am going to be reviewing Chuy's restaurant. The original Chuy's was started in 1982 in Austin, TX, by Mike Young and John Zapp. The original was started in an abandoned Texas Barbecue joint. Chuy's is a chain restaurant that is located all over the United States. The Chuy's that my family and I went to is located in Short Pump in Richmond, VA. Someone in my mom's office really likes Chuy's and said we should try it.

In my opinion Chuy's doesn't seem like an authentic Mexican restaurant. The one in Short Pump doesn't give you the feel that you're in a Mexican Restaurant. They didn't play Mexican music, and the decor didn't seem very Mexican. Its not family owned and just doesn't seem like you're getting authentic Mexican food.

When I went I got the kids bean and cheese burrito with rice. It was a pretty big burrito for a kid and was alright in my opinion. My mom got something off of the Lite category. She thought it was okay. I believe my dad got tacos and again thought it was okay. The tortilla chips were great and so was the salsa. We wouldn't rush back to Chuy's necessarily but might go back. It was okay, but not great.

I give it a 3 stars out of 5 stars!
